What can we proceed with?
22 mei 2025, PaulIt’s late in the evening as I write this – it’s been three full days with Brian Pasch and our #DCDW events. The events in Antwerp and Almere are attracting more and more visitors, and with that, the pressure these days bring is also increasing. What needs to change? What can be improved? What is already good?
What remains constant is delivering the best online automotive content in the Benelux – and actually in Europe – by bringing in top speakers from, for example, the United States. I want to keep doing that in the future. The reason is simple and comes from a quote by Zig Ziglar:
Sharing content
I share content through events, podcasts, videos, and of course, my articles because I enjoy helping colleagues get better at online automotive. And because I know that if I help enough people, I too – as an entrepreneur and as a person – will be helped in achieving my goals.
Ultimately, I also do it for myself. I want to become better at online automotive, and after reading three books in recent weeks, I once again realized how much I still don’t know…
These three books made me realize that – as long as you’re open to other opinions, ideas, and content – you can improve yourself tremendously. I want to be a student of online automotive, not a professor, because I’m far from where I want to be on this journey – even though I’ve been doing this for over 20 years…
Brian’s presentation was another such educational session. For two hours, Brian delved into the technical side of online marketing, specifically focusing on dealer websites. For example, the speed of a website, which you can test at https://pagespeed.web.dev/
When I look at my own website, I see the following:
The conclusion is that experiencestoredoesburg.nl passes the first test – nice! That information comes from all visitors to the mobile website, not just your own visit. Below that, you’ll find the explanation of the different performance metrics, which looks like this:
Then suddenly you see that the performance score is 65 out of 100… oops, that’s not great. But it immediately shows what you can do to improve it. I don’t fully understand the advice – I’m not a programmer – but I can immediately pass the information to my web developer to improve the site.
Research from Shift Digital has shown that a fast-loading website (which this research is about) has more than 50% impact on the conversion rate from sessions to leads. In other words: you get more leads with the same number of website visitors. And we all know your own website delivers the best leads.
So, even if you think you know everything: take a day off to immerse yourself in new information, meet new people, and absorb new content. It can never be a wasted day! On November 4 and 5, we’ll be back with a new edition of the #DCDW events. And the fun part: you can already register via the links below.
